Exam Simulator
City & Guilds electrical exams are a nationally recognised industry standard. Qualifications can be gained for installation, maintenance and testing of electrical installations and equipment.
The exams involve a computer based test (as well as practical based assessments for certain qualifications) using the C&G’s computer based exam system – this is a simple to use multiple choice online exam. Questions are shown one at a time, together with a number of possible answers. The user selects the answer they consider to be correct and then move on to the next question.
Results are obtained after the exam (usually after a short break once everyone has finished). A PASS / FAIL is given together with a break down of the scores obtained for different exam topics.
Why Do I Need an Exam Simulator?
The C&G computer exam system can be daunting, even to a student who is a confident computer user. The layout will be unfamiliar and valuable exam minutes can be lost if the system is not used properly.
Students with a good working knowledge and a thorough understanding of the subject can come unstuck if they use The computer system incorrectly. This website allows students to practice taking a computer based exam that has a similar layout to the C&G system, and get used to its layout and controls.
The following advantages are offered:
- Similar layout to the actual exam.
- Count down timer allows you to judge how much time you should allow for each question.
- Questions match the level of difficulty for the actual exam (questions are based on past papers and current exams).
- Results are split down into different sections – revision can be tailored to concentrate on any low performing areas.
- Low cost – A few pounds spent on the exam simulator can make all the difference between a pass and a fail. Re-sitting an exam can be expensive both financially (to you or your employer) and in time.
- An “Upgrade” option allows an enhanced level of help. During the exam you can open a “hint” to point towards a suitable section, table, page or diagram in a publication.
- Upgraded exams also provide a full explanation of the correct answer after the exam – invaluable for efficient revision.
